A U.S. agent ticks In the sentence-ordinance of Judge Salvini reconstructed the "Strategy of tension"

by GIOVANNI MARIA BELLU

ROME - It was considered the most insane fantasy of the afterlamas. There were those who laughed on it, in the '70s: it seemed impossible that the secret service of an allied country, could be behind the massacres. From some iorno that hypothesis is contained in a judicial act: David Carret, officer of the U.S. Navy, a CIA man in Italy, is under investigation in Milan for military political espionage, in the massacre of Piazza Fontana (Milan, December 1969) and in other attacks that took place in those years.

It was the investigating judge Guido Salvini who decided to send the documents related to Carret to his colleague Grazia Pradella, owner of the investigation on the massacre in Milan. He did so at the conclusion of his investigation into the black subversion. A monumental work, which began in July 1988, which produced 92 folders, 60,000 pages of documents and was developed in 463 interrogations.

In these ten years, Judge Salvini has rewritten some of the darkest parts of our postwar history. Not only in a guilty key: from the investigations (and their organization yesterday pointed out) emerge elements in favor of the thesis of the "legitimate" of the Gladio network. Unfortunately, the prescription of many crimes does not do justice to the work done by the magistrate. Only the most serious crimes, and political-military espionage, have resisted the wear of time, has endured the wear of time. Salvini has thus indicted the Italian head of the NATO-US information network, Sergio Minetto, and the repentant agent Carlo Digilio. With them, two historical names of the black eversion are also called to appear before the judges: Yves Guerin Serac and Stefano Delle Chiai

From the work of Judge Salvini, from the cross-reliefs to each statement of the repentants, it emerges that the subversive organizations of those years - La Fenice, Avant-garde, New Order - were only the trench troops of an occult army, guided by exponents of the apparatuses of the State and linked to the CIA.

In this scenario, the massacre of Piazza Fontana becomes something more than a terrorist attack. Says one of the most authoritative witnesses of this story, Vincenzo Vinciguerra: "The massacre of December '69 was to be the detonator that would have allowed certain political and military authorities the proclamation of the emergency state". The plan did not succeed: the then Prime Minister Mariano Rumor, contrary to what the neo-fascists and their allies expected, after the massacre in Piazza Fontana, the "state of emergency", an act essential for the establishment of an authoritarian regime. And it was decided to make him pay. The occasion was offered, on May 17, 1973, by his visit to the police station in Milan. Gianfranco Bertoli (sedy anarchist, but linked to the Services and the fascists) launches a bomb in the crowd. Rumor had no consequences, but four people died.

And here's what the penitent Digilio recounted about the days before the attack on the police station: "...Captain Carret showed himself very worried, and he said that he could end badly. He added that if such a high personality of the state had actually been affected, the investigations would have been very thorough with the risk of putting the entire structure into the open and coming to know everything that had happened, even in the past, including the attacks and the coup project of the 1969-1979. But the American Services not only "sapen": they acted. Still Digilio on the massacre of Piazza Fontana and the coup: "Then the captain Carret confirms 2 that this had been the project well seen by the Americans, and that had failed for the hesitation of some Christian Democrats like Rumor".

Judicial Archaeology? An old story? The doubt comes. Also reading - at the beginning of the sentence-ordinance - the polemical findings of Judge Salvini on the "poor" support had in recent years by the court of Milan. But this same doubt falls when it turns out that in very recent times (in 1995) the trustee of the CIA in Milan, Carlo Rocchi, was surprised while he was busy collecting news on the investigation. An investigation that did, and still is, scared. To the point that the heirs of yesterday’s murderers thought to take out the captain of Ros Massimo Giraudo, one of the main collaborators of the Milanese judge.
