The year 1952 is significant in Cold War as it was the year that the West planned to pre-emptively strike Russia with nuclear bombs.

Having been astounded at the rate of development of the Soviet nuclear weapons program with the first nuclear bomb detonated in 1949 when NATO nations attacked Korea a year later they were still hoping to strike Russia with nuclear weapons as late as 1951

Collier Magazine in an article titled Russia's Defeat And Occupation envisaged an unfolding World War against Russia in a 130 page article

In October 1951 President Eisenhower in an interview with Paris-Match declared that "by the end of 1952, the Atlantic Powers would be fully armed and would have to risk a showdown, involving a 'delicate moment for peace'.
