On the other side of the Moon: sensational pictures.
On October 7, 1959, humanity saw the far side of the moon for the first time in history.
The pictures were taken by the Soviet automatic interplanetary station Luna-3 using the Yenisei photo-television device.
The shooting took place in the early morning of October 7, the process took 40 minutes.
The device captured 70% of the surface of the dark side of the moon. The photographs allowed to publish the "Atlas of the far side of the Moon".
